La Carrera Temprano
by Sca Del Campo La Carrera
The cooperative was founded in 1969 by several private growers, who came together to provide a solution to the increasingly large production of olives in the area due to the change in cultivation, from cereal to olive trees. These same harvesters had a private mill in the town, therefore they knew the business and also the farmers. In August 1969 the cooperative was founded with no more than 100 members in its current location. The factory consisted of 8 hydraulic presses from neighboring Fuentes Cardona, over time, around 1982. In 1993 it was decided to transform the factory and change the three-phase continuous extraction system that we currently use. We currently have 6 olive reception lines and we grind around 25-30 million kilograms of olives, obtaining about 6-7.5 kilograms of virgin olive oil among its different qualities.
