The Hashemite Fund for the Development of Jordan Badia (HFDJB) was established in 2003. The Fund’s law was issued then, and the Fund began operations in mid-2006. The Fund serves the Jordanian Badia and all its regions: north, middle, and south. The Fund seeks principally to improve the socio-economic conditions in the Jordan Badia. It does this by contributing to poverty alleviation and unemployment reduction, employing the skills of the Badia’s people and building their capacities through a variety of development projects, and supporting various scientific, cultural, social, sports, and capacity-building activities.
